

Akata class cruiser
After the succes of the small and medium sized fighters, the Vector and the
Nagato class ships, Aplha shipyards wanted to explore the possibilities of
cruiser sized ships.
Their first cruiser class was the Akata, it's design specs were decided upon
with help from fleetcommanders from both the XLG and the GOX.
5 Different versions of the Akata were to be build : a logistics version to
assist fighter fleets, an assault version with amazing offensive capabilities, a
siege version, designed to defend large stationary structures and 2 cargo
versions, one optimized for transport of liquids, one for solids.

They decided to build the logistic version first as there was alot of demand
from both XLG and GOX for such a vessel to complement their fleets on deep space
missions.
The logistics version is equipped with 4 bays at which both Vectors or Nagatos
can dock and receive small repairs or undergo maintenance or be refueled and get
more ammo. As the ship will most likely be used on the battlefield it received a
thick layer of armor and several weapon systems to defend itself as wel as a
prototype of the first enegry shield projector. This shield projector creates an
energy field capable of partially absorbing incoming energy from energy- or
plasma based weapons, protecting the hull of the ship or fragile ship
subsystems.
The engine configuration used on these ships differs from the ones used on
smaller ships, where one kind of engine can provide both thrust and
maneuverability. The Akata class cruisers come with 3 main propulsion engines
and 2 heavy thrusters to provide both additional thrust and maneuverability. On
top of that, 20 small dual thruster engines have been placed all over the ship's
front and back hull. As such it doesn't have to sacrifice max cruise speed for
agility and has no problem keeping up with Vectors or Nagatos.

Standard armaments on the logistics version :
2 dual 540mm artillery turrets :
max effective range : 75000m + 17500m falloff
shell weight : 750kg, velocity : 2750 m/s
rate of fire : max 10 rounds/minute/barrel
These guns have their own small shield projector.
4 'advanced defence systems' quad 130mm cannon :
max effective range : 15000m + 15000m falloff
rate of fire : max 60 rounds/minute/barrel
4 quad medium plasma blaster turrets :
close range, high damage area weapon
max effective range : 1500m
The size of the hull allows upgrades such as additional weapon systems,
thrusters or additional storage room.
