i want to see what you can do with MT or XY now, and even RD. you have proven expertise with the mechanical, now try making impressive cards for jelly, crystal, and energy :P

interesting cards. im assuming that they are 2/30, since 30/30 doesn't make sense. they let one pick to an extent what they get from the deck, particularly decks with limited actions with scavenger (only actions are lost mine/chain reaction would assure an instakill on the next draw, great for large ships that need dealt with)

You are right, only for the instant kills I would nerf the scavenger to "lose 8 defense" or more so it can die or be killed faster.

I am not so sure that tutoring is something that green really needs at this point. Especially if it will be the only color to have it and if it will have lots of it.

I don't know what you are missing, but nothing is contradicted.

The above ship is clearly repeatable which means I am not interested in seeing another card of that sort.

There is already too much repeatable and not enough drain all.

To clarify my ideas about energy drain:

I am fine with energy drain as a supplement to a different strategy, but I don't want it to become a stand alone strategy. Just like discard.

The best way to do that is to focus on one shot effects, not every turn effects.

Taking away 4 per turn from the opponent's energy generation is much worse than taking away all their energy in one shot most of the time because of the way it throws off energy curves, especially if it is free.

Right now, there are 2 lands that do 1 per turn each that are very easy to play in the same deck.

I have suggested that we remove the ability to kill structures that generate energy, but so far the change hasn't happened yet. If it does, it would reduce the pressure on this avenue, but for the time being there is a threat with cards like Adellan Device to completely lock people out of casting things that cost more than 4.

If I have my way, it will remain no easier to use energy drain as a primary strategy than it is now.

Also, I am looking to get all every turn energy reducing abilities (combat leech, etc) off of ships. Forcing these abilities into the structure spaces and limiting the drain to 1 each goes a long way toward making sure they don't get too numerous. That would keep the maximum drain at 5 per turn which is a hefty amount, but surmountable.

I am not sure what to think about Feedback Link right now since it is a land and it does allow more than 1 generation per turn, but it also costs a whole lot and nobody ever uses it to my knowledge. If nobody ever uses it, then it can't be that bad.

Anyway, to answer the question, I would prefer the 2nd one, however, all the abilities in the game are of the first type so its probably better to just use that for continuity's sake.

What about moving Energy Leech's ability to Combat Leech, and give Energy Leech a different ability? You can only have 4 Combat Leeches, while you can use as many Energy Leeches as possible.

On energy drain, you can just block them. Duh. I do want Dark Crystal and Fusion Drain nerfed, because they can derail you early, when your energy generation is low.
