In this section of the wiki you'll find info about all the cards currently in Hidden Dimensions. Next to a seperate page for each card containing detailed info, there are a large number of cardlists.
The image below is that of the Vector ship.
The first thing to note is the card's color and the symbol in the right side portion of the card, under the white text. Each race has it's own color and matching symbol. Red cards are Human cards. There are 8 main colors, one for each of the races, as well as a grey colored card for artifacts and relics. Next to that any combination of the 8 main colors is possible, even though not every combination currently has cards in the game. Finally, there's a very rare type of card that has a spectrum background, some of these cards are listed here.
This type of card is a ship card, identified by the set of numbers in the top left corner of the card image. These numbers always follow the same format : A x D y/z. A stands for 'attack', and the x value following it is the ship's attack strength. This is the amount of damage the ship will do when it attacks other ships or bases. D stands for 'defense', and the y value is the ship's current defense, while the z value is the maximum defense the ship can have. When a ship is dealt damage, it's current defense value will be lowered and when this value reaches zero, the ship is destroyed. There are a number of cards in the game that can affect the attack, the current defense as well as the maximum defense of ships in play.
The right portion of the card contains (from top to bottom) the name of the card, the race (shown as two capitals, in this case HU, which stands for Human), the card's subtype. This information is present on all cards.
In the top right corner of the card, you'll find the card's energy cost. This is how much of a certain type (or multiple types) of energy is required to play the card. There are 9 different icons used to show the card cost : one for each of the racial energy types and one for random energy. If a card has a random energy cost, the game will randomly use whatever energy the player has avaiable to pay for the card's cost. If a card costs nothing, no card cost will be shown at all.
Under the card name, type and cost, the card's abilities are listed. There are 3 kinds of abilities and cards can have maximum one of each of these. The abilities are always shown in the same order : first come the played abilities, then the automatic abilities and finally, the activated abilities. For detailed info about the abilities, visit the ability info pages.
In case of the vector example, there's a played and an automatic ability. We can tell the first one is played since it refers to the card entering play. The second one must be an automatic ability since it mentions each turn in it's description. An activated ability can be identified by having a cost shown before the ability description.
As an example of an automatic ability, have a look at the Tarynn'Ixia card below, which is a Ca'anian ship.
The automatic ability cost 1 Dark energy. There are cards with automatic abilities that have no cost, in that case, the ability description will start with 0:.
The cost of this card contains two symbols : the one for dark energy and the random energy one. The total cost is 10, of which 8 energy must be of the dark energy type and 2 energy can be of any type.
Another difference with the Vector card is the extra symbol in the bottom right corner of the ship's image. These double arrows tell you that this card is an elite card. This can also be seen in the cardtype, which says : CA elite battleship.
Other icons to be found in this location include a 5-pointed star for legendary cards, a 4-pointed star for unique cards and a book for event cards.
Next to ships, there are two other major cardtypes : structures and actions.
Structures are similar to ships in that they also take up a slot on the board when they are cast. They do not have an attack and defense value as they can't be directly attacked by ships. Just like ships, they can have up to 3 abilities. Have a look at the example of a Xyloxi energy structure, a Nebula Shard.
Instead of the attack-defense text, there's now an icon identifying this card as a structure. Also note that this card has no energy cost.
As an example of the 3rd major cardtype, have a look at a Caes'cix action called Fusion Bolt.
The cogwheel icon in the top left corner tells you this is an action. Unlike the other 2 cardtypes, actions can only have one type of ability : a played ability
